It’s officially the most magical time of the year and along with Christmas trees on every corner and mulled wine in every mug comes the art (and science) of gifting. I thought it may be fun to pull together a Park Slope Heaven Gift Guide, with an emphasis on brownstones, local businesses, NYC / Brooklyn themed gifts, and general 2020 survival. Here it is, if you’d like to see it!
In true Park Slope Heaven fashion, first on the list is the cutest brownstone ornament. (I have this and can confirm it is the cutest.)

Next up are all things cozy for the long, cold nights of a quarantined winter. Think scented candles and books from local bookshops (like Community Bookstore in Park Slope or Books are Magic in Cobble Hill). Better yet, how about a book that takes place in Brooklyn, this one or this one? (PS – Books are Magic has a monthly book subscription!)

How about something nice for their desk, like a cozy mug or a new plant? Tarzian Hardware and Planted Park Slope both have great options locally, and The Sill is perfect for someone out of town! (For fresh flowers, check out ZuZu’s Petals, Wild Union Florals, and Brownstone Botanical.)

The 2020 holiday season means even more time indoors. Here are a few activities that would make great gifts!

For most of us, more time at home means more cooking. This is a great year to surprise your list with a few fun things for the kitchen, like this New York City Apron from Gift-Man or this Cookbook / Tablet Stand from Lucky Rubber Ducky.
Let’s not forget our local artists! Here are a few cute prints from NYC-based artists.

And an ode to public transportation for the busiest New Yorkers on your list…

We can’t forget about the pandemic puppies of Park Slope Heaven…

(Or this pigeon, lol.)
You can’t go wrong with a gift card to their favorite restaurant (how about Stone Park Cafe, al di la Trattoria or Convivium Osteria?) or holiday treats from a local bakery, like Butterly Bakeshop or Ladybird Bakery.
And last but certainly not least, how about a 2020 survival trophy? We made it!
